When training in Mixed Martial Arts it is very important to protect yourself. The most basic step is to protect yourself with the proper MMA gear. The right equipment can protect you from serious injury. If you are injured then you will have to take a break from training and also its just not a good thing to get injured, no one likes getting hurt. The first and most important piece of equipment are the MMA gloves. You can’t practice punching people with bear knuckles, you will hurt yourself and others. Knee pads and shin guards are also improtant. Knee pads protect your knees from impact and shin guards soften the blows to your shins. You don’t want to be kicking with bare shins unless you are well conditioned. Don’t forget a mouth piece, otherwise you will be biting yourself on accident or possibly damaging your teeth. I, personally think its a good idea to cover your ears with protective head gear if you want to avoid getting inflamed cauliflower ears. Of course don’t forget to wear a cup and have fun!
