I found out we were going to attend a Halloween party at my husbands’ bosses’ house. It will be in the style of a masquerade ball. They request that we all wear renaissance dress costumes. I was a little concerned because we hadn’t even bought the kids costumes for trick or treat yet. I was worried about the cost of our renaissance costume clothing. I wasn’t sure if we could afford our costumes and the kids. My husband swore we could manage it just fine. We agreed to go as cheap as we could on our costumes for the party. We decided to check the web for Halloween costumes.

We found a lot of costumes that were perfect for the Halloween party. There were many costumes my husband found that he liked. I found a lovely renaissance queen costume I felt was fitting for me. It was really quite gorgeous and it didn’t cost as much as you would think. In fact I liked a lot of the costumes I looked at. My husband was having the same problem. He found more than one costume he wanted too. He thought about the renaissance king costume. He really liked that kingly men’s renaissance costume. After the king costume he saw a knight of the round talbe costume and wanted that too. He finally saw the costume he felt was meant for him. He claims it’s the inner him. Where does he get that idea? He chose to wear a renaissance pirate costume. I think he will really look great in that costume. After looking at all the renaissance costume women selection , I prefer the maid marian. Although there were quite a few costumes I liked, I liked the maiden costume the most. Now that my husband and I had our renaissance halloween costume, we could concentrate on what we are going to do about the kids costumes.

Our kids didn’t know exactly what kind of costumes they wanted this year. So, we went back to the internet to see what suggestions they had. The delivery was a lot sooner than we expected. We all had to try our costumes on, naturally. Everyone was pleased with the choices they had made. My husbands pirate costume was really awesome. My maid marian costume was really beautiful. The costumes for the kids were so nice and they looked so good on them. I think this is going to be one of our best Halloweens ever. Even if I am stuck going to his bosses’ party.

There is going to be a Halloween party for fathers and sons at my sons’ troop leaders house. So we have been trying to come up with some costume ideas for them. Our son thought about the characters in the dark knight movie for their costumes. But my husband was more interested in knight halloween costumes they had back in King Arthurs day. I suggested we look at both and then they could decide which way they wanted to go. They both agreed to my idea. The first ones they checked out was the Batman selection. Our son found a couple of costumes he liked. But his Dad couldn’t find anything he liked. Next they looked at the medieval costumes they had available. Our son actually found some of the costumes to be really cool. Finding out he could order a sword and shield made him even more interested. They really had quite a unique selection of medieval costumes for the guys to consider. I saw the neatest little knight outfit for toddlers there too. It was so cute. It brought back memories of when our son was a toddler. He would have made a precious knight of the round table back then. But now my little knight is eight years old and going to a father and son Halloween party with his boy scout troop. Both my guys were looking forward wearing look alike costumes for the Halloween party. My husband was as anxious to attend this party as our son was. I felt like I had two kids to get ready for halloween.
They looked at the costumes in the kids and adult section over and over. They would pick out one costume and then change their minds when they saw the next one. Our son first chose a knight costume called a dragon. Then he ran across the costume for a warrior knight. He just couldn’t decide on one. His Dad was in the same boat. The first one he liked was a caped knight from the renaissance age. Then he moved on to the evil knights costume. But he had a change of heart on that one too. He didn’t like all the armor it had on it. So he kept looking at the website for more suggestions. After a little while they actually made up their minds. They both had made a decision on the knight costume they each wanted to wear. They ordered costumes and accessories for their outfits. Our son chose the child’s knight costume for slaying dragons. So the only extras to order was his shield and sword. His Dad went with a knight costume like King Arthurs men. So he needed his sword and shield too. Dad wanted a helmet for his knight costume too. Our son’s costume came with a helmet, chest piece and shoulder guards. It was a pretty cool costume. They couldn’t wait for the packages to arrive. It only took the costumes about six days to get to us.
They tried on their knight costumes just as soon as I handed them over. They are going to have a super great time at the father and son Halloween party. They are just marking the days off the calendar in anticipation. It’s hard to believe I only have one kid when it feels more like two. I have had to put up with Sir Lancelot and Sir Galahad doing battle with swords in hand ever since they got the costumes. I think they have lived out every King Arthur scenario they could think of. There are lots of bad guys and dead dragons laying all over my livingrrom. This is a Halloween I’ll long remember. I wonder if King Arthurs knights drove Lady Guinevere up the proverbial castle wall too.
